Casa Sant'Alessio

Project for a house located in the province of Messina (Sicily). The concept rises from the desire to create a single house that, when needed, splits into two apartments. To achieve this, a large floor to ceiling sliding door has been integrated into the design. When open, the hidden door will guarantee continuity between the spaces. When closed, its large dimensions will ensure complete visual separation between the apartments. The lower level integrates local stone in its exterior, creating a firm base. The upper floor has been kept lighter and retracted in order to contrast the strong appearance of the ground level.
